As a classical guitarist, David's performances have been featured on Adam Walton's BBC Introducing radio show, as part of the Vale of Glamorgan Festival, and as part of commissions for the National Library of Wales. He has written and recorded a large number of  his own works, and is producing and recording an album of works in 2021.

As an electric guitarist, David has played extensively in rock, pop, jazz, metal, and classical contexts. His co-wirtten 'No Regrets' was selected out of 15,000 entries to make it on the front page of MySpace, and his music has won several NewGround's contests, he also specialises in technical rock music. He has performed as a featured soloist (electric guitar) at Brecon Jazz Festival and the Great Northern Jazz Festival.

As a conductor and ensemble leader, David has worked with a large range of amateur and professional ensembles; he ran Chesterton Community College Guitar and Ukulele Orchestra, was appointed conductor of Cardiff University Healthcare Society Choir, has written and conducted his own opera, and has conducted and recorded his own music for professional release (a commission for the Royal Observatory Greenwich).

David has also performed professionally as a pianist, on bass guitar, on ukulele, as a synth player, and in a wide variety of different contexts. He is fully able to make professional, commerical-level MIDI, digital, and acoustic recordings. He also has a strong background in research and project co-ordination.
