David works professionally as a score producer advising on score and part preparation, transcribing orchestral works, orchestrating and arranging music, and any other pursuit in support of the work required of him. He was shortlisted for the Richard Toeman Scholarship in 2017.
He recently worked as an editorial assistant on David Trippett’s Sardanapalo project, helping create scores and parts for the Welsh National Opera's premiere performance of the work. Upon its release, Sardanapalo was nominated for CD of the year with The Guardian and Presto Classical, and selected as Gramophone Editor’s Choice (February 2019). The Times stated that ‘the work’s emergence changes musical history’.

David works closely with Paul Roland, having transcribed and arranged his 30 minute Grimm Fantasy for orchestra, his string quartet, and a large number of chamber works for performance.
Further notable projects include working on Steve Wishart's The Rough With the Smooth - a commission for The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
David frequently works with musicians from a wide array of backgrounds and has completed scores and parts for the London Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera, and a wide array of international orchestras. He has also proofread parts for publication by major publishers.
