WRITING AND MEDIA

David writes and talks extensively about his - and others - music. His writings have been published in 2 books by Paul Roland, Metal Guru: The Life and Music of Marc Bolan (’thoroughly readable and perceptively analytic study goes way beyond the parameters of the standard rock biog’), and The Devil's Jukebox: a Biography of Paul Roland (‘fascinating magical mystery tour’, Classic Rock Magazine). 

He has blogged extensively for Wales Arts Review, Ty Cerdd, Britten Sinfonia, and Hijinx Odyssey. He has also undertaken poetry writing workshops with Keats-Shelley Prize winner Cahal Dallat.

David has featured and given many talks, interviews, and presentations about his music; onstage at Cadogan Hall, on David Bruce's YouTube channel, live on S4C and the National Eisteddfod, for the Vale of Glamorgan Festival, with the London Evening Standard, Ty Cerdd, at the Dyson headquarters in Malmsbury, and and lots of different universities. His interviews have been broadcast and televised nationally and internationally to millions of people (including Telebelluno, Discovery Channel Canada, and S4C). His in-print written interviews have been published internationally in a large number of countries and cities around the world.

David also makes short films about his music. He has produced these for The Vale of Glamorgan Festival and in conjunction with a large number of ensembles and performers. He been commissioned to work on films for  Cambridge University Communication Department, The National Library of Wales, twice for The British Library, five times for Centre of the Cell, and by the Royal Observatory Greenwich.
